The Swedish non-profit H&M Foundation (“the Foundation”), works to ensure that your privacy is protected. We therefore have a policy setting out how your personal data will be processed and protected. Please stay updated to any changes to this Privacy Policy by visiting our website.

What types of personal data do we collect?

We will collect basic personal data about you, which does not include any special categories of personal data. The personal data that you submit to us may for example include email, name, contact information and date of birth.

How do we use your personal data?

We need to know basic personal data in order to manage the Global Change Award. If you do not provide this information, then we will be unable to let you enter the Global Change Award. We will only keep your data for 2 years, after which time it will be deleted, if it is no longer required by law. If you consent to marketing, any information we use for this purpose will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

Who is responsible for your personal data?

The Foundation, is the Controller of the personal data you disclose to us and therefore responsible for your personal data under the Swedish Data Protection Act (1998:204) implementing EU Directive 95/46/EC, later implementing the EU Regulation (EU) 2016/679 the 25th of May 2018.

Where is your personal data stored?

Your personal data is stored in EU. In the event of transfer of your personal data to a country outside the EU/EEA-area, such transfer will be carried out in compliance with applicable laws.

What are your rights?

You have the right to request information about the personal data we hold on you at any time If your data is incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant, you can ask to have the information corrected or removed. We cannot remove your data when there is a legal storage requirement. You can withdraw your consent to us using the data for marketing purposes at any time. You can contact us by sending an email to If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to Data Protection Authority.

Who has access to your personal data?

We never pass on, sell or swap your data to third parties for marketing purposes. Data will only be forwarded to third parties in order to administrate and manage the Global Change Award as mentioned above, on behalf of the Foundation

How do we protect your personal data?

We have taken technical and organisational measures to protect your data from loss, manipulation, unauthorised access. We continually adapt our security measures in line with technological progress and developments.
